Consul General
Shri Siddharth Malik , IFS
Mr. Siddharth Malik assumed charge as Consul General of India, Edinburgh in August, 2024. He is an Indian career diplomat and joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2010. He speaks Hindi, English and Mandarin. In his assignments abroad, he has served at Embassy of India in Beijing and at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in New York in various capacities. At the Ministry of External Affairs, he has served as Under Secretary in East Asia Division and as Chief of Staff in the office of Minister of State for External Affairs.
Prior to joining this office, he was Director in Economic Diplomacy Division of Ministry of External Affairs where he dealt with bilateral investment and trade related issues.
He is a lawyer by education and hails from New Delhi. Mr. Siddharth is married to Ms. Pavas and they have two sons, Kiaan and Ark. He likes to read and play tennis.
