Dr Rajesh Gokhale Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, India led a business delegation from India for the India-Scotland Business Meet. During the visit he met with the First Minister of Scotland John Swinney MSP at a reception hosted at the Bute House for the business delegation. He also had meetings with Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes MSP and Prof. Jim Mcdonald, Chair of Scottish Enterprise. During these meeting he discussed avenues to expand India-Scotland trade and investment relations.

Dr Gokhale along with the life-science delegation visited Piramal Pharma manufacturing unit at Grangemouth. He also met with Prof Bruce Whitelaw Director of the The Roslin Institute and visited Edinburgh Technopole. Later he interacted with Indian students studying life-sciences at Scottish Universities. During these interactions, he explored joint research programs, means to strengthen bio-tech & healthcare ties and discussed investment & collaboration opportunities between India & Scotland.
